Fashion Museum Schloss Ludwigsburg
The comprehensive collection of costumes and textiles of Landesmuseum Württemberg is housed in a building of the Baroque
castle since 2003. Under the same roof, you can find the fashion museum opened in 2004, which covers an area of about 1,300
sqare meters, the textile restoration workshop as well as the textile storage. Textile conservator Bettina Beisenkötter
will guide us through the newly established storage facility and textile workshop and explain what is important when handling
and storing textiles. The museum's curator, Dr. Rainer Y, will guide us through the fashion museum. Based on approximately 700
artifacts – costumes and accessoires for women, men and children – we will get a vivid impression of trends in
European fashion between 1750 and 1970. Conceptualization, conservation conditions and the issue of how to use historical rooms
in the context of a museum will also be addressed.

Celtic Museum Hochdorf – Culture of the Early Celtic Rulers around the Hohenasperg
The discovery of an undisturbed early Celtic chieftain's burial was an archaeological sensation in 1978/79. Rarely such a rich
burial has endured over a long period of time without being robbed. Its investigation by the Landesdenkmalamt, supported by
state-of-the-art technology, saved the burial chamber from total destruction by plowing. Years of research eventually yielded an
accurate picture of what the burial originally looked like. At the Keltenmuseum, the visitor will learn the story of the
excavation, obtain information about archaeological work methods and gain insights about the glorious time of the Celtic
chieftains. The entire burial chamber with its precious metal and textile artifacts has been reconstructed true to the original
items and their crafting methods. Therefore the viewer can travel 2,500 years back in time. At the museum, s/he will learn what
the artifacts tell us about craftsmanship of the early Iron Age and the local Celts' well-established contacts with the antique
Mediterranean world. You can find further information
